Bump n Grind - South Granville Grand Opening!

I was invited to the opening party of Bump n Grind Cafe grand opening. The South Granville location is their second location. The original location on Commercial Drive is well-loved by the neigbourhood. Owners Cheryl and Kyle Wright wanted to open their new location in a community-oriented neighbourhood, and found the perfect space on Granville Street and West 15th Avenue.

Bump n Grind is a multi-roaster cafe, where the owners search high and low across Canada for the best coffee. Coffees are rotated weekly to keep the menu fresh, and exciting.

Like the Commercial location, the South Granville shop has their famous Earl Grey Shortbread, Mookie (a muffin/cookie treat), and Matcha Brownie.

At the party, we were treated to all the baked goods and sandwiches Bump n Grind has on their menu. We were also able to try anything from the coffee bar. The Gibraltar came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint! It is two shots of espresso, topped with a splash of milk, served in a small Gibraltar tumbler. The rim was coated with chocolate sauce, and topped with chopped almonds. The coffee was a perfect balance of espresso, and delicious whole milk.

The Spiced Chai was also highly recommended. While I didn't have a chance to try it, I could smell the intense flavour when I walked by others who were drinking it. Everything was simply delightful!

There was something else on the menu that caught my eye. I have an Aeropress at home, and use it all the time. Besides the typical pour over, and french pressed coffee, Bump n Grind also offers Aeropress coffee! What a treat for those who are skeptical! If you like what you taste, you can also purchase an Aeropress from the cafe.

To top it all off, guests were sent home with a goodie bag with even more baked treats, and teas! I must say, my favourite was the Earl Grey Shortbread! I'm a sucker for anything with Earl Grey!

In addition to delicious coffee and food, the space was also beautiful! The feel is clean, with wood accents. The lighting hung from reclaimed wood beams, treated shiplap wood adorned the walls. The tables are made of polished ash and walnut.

You must make a trip to a Bump n Grind ASAP!

Location: 3010 Granville Street, Vancouver
